Winning Story

This is the winning story for our 6th island access quest. Winner: Elfangor -LS- Thank you to everyone who participated.

Greetings, brave adventure. I, and the people of Artica, are very grateful that you've defeated the Ice Slayer and prevented his army from ever reaching the shore of Artica. However, though it pains me to tell you this, your efforts were in vain. We initially believed that the followers of the Dark Ones (Gluriurl and Makrsh P'tangh) were trying to extract revenge upon the descendants of Champions who fought against their Lord in the Battle of Emanations but we were gravely mistaken. The Ice Slayer's uprising was nothing more than a ruse to cover up their true intentions.

On that fateful day, when you took the Slayer's life, I was once again able to gaze upon the setting sun but what I found there was not comfort or peace of mind. To my horror, black sails lined the horizon and, as I watched, they slowly disappeared into the west, taking the last bit of light with them. It appears that while we were occupied with preventing the Slayer's invasion, they were building a fleet of massive proportion, the likes of which mankind have never seen, and that fleet is now headed straight for the island of Akropolis, the ruins of the Dwarven city where, deep underground, the cursed Dwarven King, Cilandrus, still wept for the lost of his people. As you may already know, the Dwarves were sent into oblivion during the Harbinger's third coming and their King, much like the Elven King (Makrsh P'tangh), were cursed to live and witness the destruction of his people. Unlike the prideful Elven King, however, the kind Cilandrus retained his sanity and instead of becoming a Lich, he chose to sealed himself away from the world and remain underground, forever mourning what's left of his civilization. Up to this day, his bursts of cries still tremble the ground and his fits of anger still cause eruption in the nearby volcanoes, making the island inhabitable.

If the Corrupted Followers are going to Akropolis, then they must be trying to find Cilandrus. And if, whether by brute force or devilish trickery, they are able to awaken the darkness within Cilandrus's heart and lure him to their side, then their combined forces will wreak unimaginable destruction upon the world of man. We must prevent Cilandrus from joining the Dark Ones' ranks at all cost. You must now prepare for the journey ahead. In order to reach Akropolis, you must traverse the Sea of Peril where even the greatest of magic will not be able to teleport you across. We will need to build a ship strong and fast enough for you to cross these water and catch up to the Corrupted Followers. To build such a ship, we will require you to bring us the following:

{ No the items required for the quest will not be posted ahead of time, sorry guys^^ }
You are now required to collect the supplies that will last you through the journey. It is neccessary that you bring the following:

{ No the items required for the quest will not be posted ahead of time, sorry guys^^ }

(After bringing back all the items)

Excellent, you are now well prepare to begin the journey to Akropolis. Be wary once you are there, the island has been abandonned and uninhabitted for centuries, who knows what kind of creatures are now lurking there. Well, on that note, off you go! Safe travels.
